The Forest Wedding

Jennifer & Divan

The ENTIRE DESIGN CONCEPT: This gem of a forest wedding had an overall colour palette of dusty blue, sage and white. The couple, Jennifer & Divan loves nature and we decided to create something truly special for them. One of the key items –  wooden underplates made out of a poplar tree stump from their new bought farm. We got the wood cut, sealed and used it as underplates, afterwards the guests could take it home as a wedding guest favour, and use it as a customized cheeseboard.

For the ceremony the venue had a large door at the entrance where we added rings of greenery, the gazebo was draped with white linen and tied together with 2 floral arrangements, a 1000 origami birds were hung from the tree canopy and the final personal touch was large white, flat rocks which each guest were asked to write a message on it and put it down the aisle for the couple (which afterward they took home and arranged all the rocks around their garden).

For the reception there were two long guest tables with oxford blue-grey runners that ran across the table and scattered flower arrangements, we added hanging installations with Edison bulbs. On the other side of the venue (the venue is L-shaped) were beautiful lounge set for the buffet desserts and cake later the evening and a lovely space that overlooks the dancefloor area. Outside was 2 lounge pockets, a gin bar and 2 bon fires for guests to enjoy some S’mores for dessert & mid night snack.

Our PROFESSIONAL ADVICE: No amount of personalization is too much, the more uniquely ideas you can bring in to your wedding the bigger the impact and the more it will separate you from any other “normal” wedding. Go really personal – like create something that symbolizes you and your partner, when guests look at it they will be “this is so you..”

Be different and have fun with it!
