With social distancing still in place and so many couples looking for alternative ways to host their celebrations, we have been getting creative with theme ideas to help you create a fun virtual bridal shower.
Whilst a virtual shower isn’t the same there are a few silver linings, more people might be able to attend your virtual shower. The ones with kids, your friends who live far away and a big plus, there is no mess to clean up afterwards!
Create an idea for your shower, it could just be a colour or choose a theme.
Themes are a great starting point for getting organised, whether it is a colour or an actual theme it makes the whole planning process easier and you will soon be getting excited about your celebration. It also makes it much easier for your guests to get into the zone, they will want to make sure this is a celebration for you.
THEME IDEAS FOR VIRTUAL BRIDAL SHOWER:
A COCKTAIL EVENING
Where do we start? There are so many ideas you could create for your virtual bridal shower, here we have suggested a few!
Book a cocktail mixologist to go live with you all.
Send out a list of the items each guest will need at home to create a few cocktails and have a cocktail lesson. Ask all your guests to wear cocktail attire and be a bit sparkly.
As a lovely surprise later during your wedding you could recreate the same cocktails.
PIZZA MAKING OR ANOTHER DISH YOU ALL LOVE
Host a pizza making shower, tell everyone to get their ingredients and choose their toppings. Get everyone to set up their phones or laptops in the kitchen and have a pizza baking session.
Host a competition to see who’s pizza looks the most appetising and creative.
FLOWER ARRANGING
We all love florals, you could book an online floral arranging class for everyone to attend.
Tell your friends and family what to order or even better send a floral box to them beforehand.
There are some fabulous ideas online for letterbox flowers or creating wreath kits.

AN AT-HOME SPA
We all love a good spoil and selfceare treats. Prior to your party, send your guests a care package of spa goodies, these could be items like face masks, nail polish, scented candles, a robe, etc.), or you can ask your guests to gather some of their own spa goodies for the occasion. Send out invites and request your guests to be dressed in their cosiest attire and have their treatments ready for your virtual session.
JUST CHOOSE A COLOUR OR THEME
If you don’t want the cost of hiring in an expert or buying anything then consider a colour, ask everyone to wear the same colour and just get together for a fun catch up.
A GARDEN TEA PARTY
Choose a theme such as a garden tea party, ask everyone to come dressed for a summer garden party and create their own version of their cream tea with mini sandwiches and cakes.
A TAPAS STYLE PARTY
Get creative with a Mediterranean tapas style shower, ask everyone to prepare their own version of tapas and dress as if they are on holiday, this one could be interesting!
Food and drink are always popular subjects, after all this is what a party is about.

Whilst most of your guests would love this some may not want to show up without make up but hosting a make up tutorial together could be fun. Hire a make up artist to take everyone through an online party make up class.
BRIDAL SHOWER GAMES
Host a trivia game, a pub quiz night, everyone loves a game.
There are some great ideas to help you such as Psych which everyone can download to their phone or Heads Up, a charades style game created by Ellen DeGeneres.
